Hunter's Baseball Tournament

Last weekend was Hunter's first 11u baseball tournament in Salem. He did really well! He pitched some, played 3rd and left field and by far had the BEST batting average of his whole team. He was the only one to get a hit the first game, the second game he got the BEST hits of anyone, and in the last game they played he HIT IT OVER THE FENCE!!! He crushed the ball out of left field. I wish I could say I got it on camera but I was too busy jumping off the bleachers screaming and high- fiving the other moms!!! It was awesome. Hunter had a look of complete shock on his face according to Aaron. What was really cool is that Aaron & April and the kids and Jed & Kallie and their kids were all there to witness it! His first EVER home run and it was over the fence!! Plus he got an RBI with that hit too. He had quite a tournament!!

Easter Weekend In Mesquite and Vegas Baby!!!

We went to Mesquite to watch Rykley and Korben in their first accellerated baseball tournament. We had tons of fun! The weather kind of cooperated....it was WAY warmer than it was here in Payson so I won't complain too much!!! On the way down, we had to stop at the Chevron with the big white rocking chair for a treat or we couldn't finish our journey to Mesquite. We found some weird looking kids in disguise- any guesses on who they might be?? On Saturday, we took the kids to Vegas. That was quite an experience!! Hunter was SO disturbed by the people handing out those little porn cards. They were on the ground every where! He was really bugged... They did like the Bellagio water show and some of the arcades and things. Hayden even braved the New York New York roller coaster!! He wasn't sure he wanted to go through with it the closer we got in line but I made him stick it out! We survived!! We had a good time on our little Easter getaway!!! The kids had the most fun swimming in the pool at the hotel- maybe next time we will save money and just sit at the hotel and they can swim the whole time! :)

Hunters 1st LINERS game

Hunter had his first LINERS baseball game last night in Herriman. Don't worry that the poor kids played in 30 degree weather with the wind blowing! It had to have been even colder with the windchill... He played 2nd base (which he has never done before) and he pitched the last inning. By the time his turn came around it was FREEZING!!!! He got the worst conditions of everyone to try to pitch to the Herriman LEAGUE CHAMPS from 2009... He did awesome though! Struck his first batter out even though he could barely feel his fingers and other body parts... His team hasn't even been outside on a field yet and they decided to have a practice game in freezing cold weather against the league champs. Hmmm.... :) Way to go Hunter! Hope the next game is slightly warmer....

Jump on It

So on Monday, Kallie and I decided that since the kids were out of school we would take them to do something. We thought maybe we would go to a movie or something but decided to go to Jump on It in Lindon. This place was CHAOS!!! So maybe this wasn't our best idea...

Hayden's First Karate Tournament as MIDNIGHT NINJA

So last night was Hayden's very first Karate Tournament... and he kicked BUTT!! It was a black-light tournament where they sparred using Chunbarra swords, etc. They had to creat a hero name- Hayden chose MIDNIGHT NINJA (which explains the mask :] ) He took 2nd in his first match, 1st in the next one, and in the 2 on 2 tournament he placed 3rd. Each match the kids had the chance to earn gold coins if they placed. Hayden earned 17 gold coins!!! That was a LOT compared to most of the competitors. Because he did so well in the prior matches he got to go to the FINALS baby!!! His first match in the finals was a girl who was a black belt. He beat her!!! He had one more round to go to be the Grand Champion, and this match was against a HUGE kid that I think was a purple belt... Lets keep in mind Hayden's size and current belt status of yellow/white!!!! I was pretty nervous watching the last match- and after a tense match... Hayden WON!!!!! He was awarded the Grand Champion for the younger divisions including the intermediate division. He did awesome, especially since it was his very first tournament. It was a LONG night, but worth it to see Hayden do SOOOO well!!!

Dad's Early Birthday Party

y

So we decided that since Dad's birthday present was NOT going to be easy to send to Cambodia... we had an early Birthday party for him and let him open his present. We all went in with mom and got him a cute red Netbook!! After an AMAZING rendition of Happy Birthday ( I wish I could add audio =] ) We had cake and ice cream! Dad actually used his present to Skype us from the airport last night- pretty cool!!!
